THE LEGACY CLUB

The Legacy Club (TLC) is deeply committed to addressing the risk factors experienced by young boys living in fatherless homes. TLC is devoted to building healthy habits and long-lasting relationships to empower young boys into their futures.

Unfortunately, much evidence suggests that single-mother families tend to be disadvantaged at systemic and individual levels relative to two-parent families (Kendig & Bianchi, 2008). Due to systemic and individual inequalities, young boys are at higher rates of suicide, substance abuse, homelessness, and involvement in the juvenile justice system.

TLC strives to create healthy support systems and communities for young boys where they feel supported, valued, and encouraged. The young boys participating as members will be introduced to diverse experiences, access additional and alternative pathways for long-term success, and be empowered to achieve their full potential as they develop into men. TLC will work closely in partnership with Seminole County Public Schools (SCPS).

“Become the gentlemen of today and the leaders for tomorrow.”

If you are an adult male interested in improving the lives of fifth-grade boys in the Seminole County area. You should join us and become a Mentor. Investing your personal life experiences into the next generation will be one of your best decisions.
